Dr Seleem is an Australian-trained Specialist in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease. He graduated from the University of Cairo, Egypt in 2000 with First-class Honours then moved to Australia in 2002. Dr Seleem completed advanced training in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2012. He worked as a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane prior to moving to Launceston in mid-2019.
Dr Seleem has been providing high quality, patient-focused services at the Launceston General Hospital as a full-time staff specialist, and has been appointed a senior lecturer at the University of Tasmania. He is a member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) and the European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation (ECCO). He is excited to expand his practice and is now available for private consultation at Launceston Gastroenterology and endoscopic procedures at St Vincent’s Private Hospital.
